Dry Rot and Wet Rot can be extremely serious if left untreated. They are the fungal decay of timber and can lead to both structural and decorative defects. Wet Rot generally needs a high moisture content to grow whereas Dry Rot (Serpula lacrymans) is the decay of timber, often from the inside.

If the conditions are right for Dry Rot to manifest, the spores are able to penetrate through some walls and infect other, untreated, timber leading to further, widespread, problems.

At DampProtex we use specialist epoxy treatments to eliminate Wet Rot and Dry Rot infestations. We will remove the timber from any affected areas to ensure that the Rot cannot re-establish itself again.
