Dry Rot and Wet Rot can be extremely serious if left untreated. It is the fungal decay of timber and can lead to structural and decorative defects. Wet Rots generally need a high moisture content to grow whereas Dry Rot (Serpula lacrymans) is the decay of timber often from the inside.
If the conditions are right for dry to manifest, the spores are able to penetrate through some walls and infect other untreated timber leading to further widespread problems.
At DampProtex we use specialist treatments to get rid of wet rot and dry rot infestations. We will remove the timber from any effected areas to ensure that the rot cannot re-establish itself again.
